Make Mother's Day Extra Special With These Great Ideas
on 12 April 2021 in Events & Entertainment

A cliché that stands true every year on Mother’s Day, the best gift you can give Mum is your time. And while the recent year has made it trickier to spend more time with Mum than she’d like, dedicate Mother’s Day 9 May 2021 to spending quality time together, while pampering her.

Here is a range of great Mother’s Day ideas that will make her feel extra special this year.

Set-up a cocktail bar at home

Spice things up with some homemade margaritas at your very own DIY cocktail bar this Mother’s Day.

All you need is the right handful of recipes that you know Mum will love, the right ingredients, and a whole lot of mixing and stirring.

The Maraboon Liquor Drive-Thru, which can be found at the Emerald Maraboon Tavern, has everything you need to throw an amazing cocktail bash for Mother’s Day this year. Boasting a broad range of stock, exceptional customer service, and unbeatable prices, don’t miss out on all of these savings ahead of the big day.

A favourite recipe from Epicurious, is the Frozen sunrise margarita, which brings together a burst of citrus followed by a refreshing tang.

What you’ll need:

  • Coarse sea salt to rim glasses
  • 1 lime wedge to rim glasses
  • ½ cup frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 1 ½ cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons of Cointreau
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice
  • 3 cups crushed ice
  • ¼ cup Grenadine
  • 4 orange slices for garnish
  • 4 fresh cherries for garnish

1. Spread a layer of coarse salt in a dish and run the lime wedge around the rims of four highball glasses and then dip the rims in the salt to have them stick.

2. Highball glasses will give you the sunrise effect that makes this drink stand out. A low margarita glass, unfortunately, will not deliver the same aesthetic results.

3. Put the orange juice concentrate, orange juice, tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice into a blender and add ice while pulsing until smooth. Divide the blend evenly among the glasses.

4. Tilt the glasses and pour one tablespoon of Grenadine down the side of each drink, allowing it to sink to the bottom of the glass to create a sunset effect.

5. Garnish with orange slices and cherries, and serve to Mum to enjoy!

Don’t forget to check out the great bottleshop specials going on at the Maraboon Liquor Drive-Thru to get more bang for your buck.

Also, the newly introduced, exciting products will tantalise Mum’s taste buds, with sweet finishes such as Baileys Red Velvet Cupcake Liqueur to finish off on a dessert note.
