With Spring quickly on the move, the summer weather is certainly setting in. But that doesn’t mean you have to mop around in the heat.

Simply whip up one of these gorgeous Spring cocktails that are fresh, delicious, crisp and will have you singing and dancing with good vibes again.

Don’t forget to grab what you need to make these amazing cocktails while they’re on special at the Maraboon Tavern and land yourself a cocktail of a deal.

1. Tropical Rum with Soda and Lime

If you’re looking for something to freshen you up with some tropical vibes, grab yourself a bottle of Captain Morgan Tropical for a taste of pre-pandemic life in the tropics.

Flavoured with pineapple and mango followed by a clean finish and pleasant fruity aftertaste, a taste of this cocktail will be the only tropical holiday you need. Simply mix this spirit with some soda and lime to your liking and viola, taste the tropical flavour explosion that will soon become your drink of choice this time of year.

Only $54.99 at Maraboon Liquor for a 1 litre bottle while on special.

2. A simple vodka cocktail

Don’t be fooled by the name of this cocktail, because as much as it may be simple to make, it’s also simply delicious and irresistible.

All you’ll need is 45ml of your favourite vodka, 135ml of your favourite juice, 2 handfuls of ice, a splash of soda water, and a wedge of your favourite citrus fruit.

It’s a no brainer that you’ll enjoy this vodka cocktail given that the ingredient list pretty much emphasises on all of your favourites.

Now simply add the vodka, juice, half of the ice into a drink shaker and mix. Fill a glass with ice and pour the vodka cocktail into it, adding a splash of soda water and serving with a wedge of your favourite citrus fruit.

Grab your vodka on special at Maraboon Liquor. A 1 litre bottle of Smirnoff Red is only $54.99 while a 700ml bottle of Skyy Vodka is only $36.99. If you’re feeling adventurous, have a taste of Uluvka Polish Vodka at $71.99 for a 700ml bottle.

3. Mai Tai

We’re all about making things easy, and if you happen to enjoy rum in your cocktails, you won’t want to miss out on making some easy Mai Tais.

They’re super fruity and have a rum base, making it an absolute delight to mix up for a weekend treat or for your next round of drinks.

All you’ll need is 60ml of rum, 1 tablespoon of orange Cointreau or curacao, half a tablespoon of almond syrup, 30ml of lime juice, half a tablespoon of sugar syrup, some mint, a wheel of lime, and a wedge of pineapple as garnish.

Simply put all the ingredients except the garnishes into a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice and shake to your heart’s content. Strain and pour into a glass half filled with ice followed by adding the lime wheel, mint, and pineapple wedge to garnish. And there you have it – a yummy Mai Tai!

Grab a litre bottle of Bundaberg rum at Maraboon Liquor for only $54.99 and a 700ml bottle of Cointreau for $49.99 while on special.

4. Cinnamon Whisky Sour

Probably the best whisky sour recipe, this one packs a punch with fresh lemon, sweetened with maple syrup for a change and topped off with a hint of cinnamon for a twist (adding cinnamon is entirely optional).

The recipe is made for just one cocktail, so feel free to multiply the ingredients based on how many you’d like to serve, so long as they fit your shaker.

You’ll need 3 tablespoons of your whisky of choice, 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon, 2 to 4 teaspoons of maple syrup to taste (entirely depends on how sweet you like it with 3 teaspoons being our favourite), and a pinch of cinnamon which is optional. You’ll also need ice to shake.

Fill two thirds of the shaker with ice and pour in your whisky, lemon juice, maple syrup and cinnamon. Shake it.

Put some fresh ice into a glass and strain your whisky sour mix into it, ready to be served and enjoyed.

Grab a deal at Maraboon Liquor for your favourite whiskys on special. With litre bottles of Johnny Walker, Canadian Club, and Jim Beam White Label going for only $54.99 each, you can also grab further discounts on Bond 7 Australian Blended Whisky 700ml for only $41.99 each, Maker’s Mark 700ml for only $48.99 each, Famous Grouse Scotch 700ml 2 bottles for only $76, or a 12yo Canadian Club 700ml for only $49.99.

5. Classic Sidecar

One of the best Cointreau drinks, the Classic Sidecar is the perfect balance between sweet and tart followed by the right boozy edge from Cognac.

A layered and complex drink offering a warm, crisp, rich and dry experience that is full and wholesome all the same.

The International Bartender Association has an official definition of what is in a Sidecar, and that includes cognac, orange liqueur (Cointreau or triple sec) and lemon juice.

The great thing about this drink is that it’s easy to make with all the steps being almost the same as a classic margarita with the difference being a sugar rim instead of salt. The sugar rim helps offset the tartness of the cocktail, although it is optional depending on preference.

All you’ll need is 4 tablespoons of cognac, 2 tablespoons of Cointreau, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, a lemon or orange twist for garnishing and very fine sugar for rimming.

Place all the ingredients into a shaker with a handful of ice and shake it until mixed thoroughly and the mixture is cold. Prepare a cocktail glass by cutting a notch in the lemon wedge and running it around the rim to wet it. Dip the edge of the rim into a plate of the superfine sugar to rim it. Strain the drink into your cocktail glass and garnish with a twist of orange or lemon.
